Cosmetic Injectables

Dr. Mayl proudly offers a wide range of cosmetic injectables at his Palm Beach area practice, including Sculptra®, Artefill®, Juvéderm™, Radiesse®, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and Restylane®, as well as most other FDA approved cosmetic injectables on the market.

Cosmetic injectables can be used to treat facial lines, wrinkles, and folds, and can also make the lips more full and supple.  Injectable treatments are administered on an outpatient basis.  Some of our patients even utilize their lunch hour to undergo the procedure and then return directly to work.  The administration of cosmetic injectables is quick, and the results can be seen immediately. We find that our patients are very satisfied with their improved appearance.

Most cosmetic injectables can be placed into two categories: those that are made from bovine (animal) derived tissue, such as collagen, and those that are made of other elements, such as non-animal hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and is found in Restylane® as well as Juvéderm™.  Individuals who are allergic to animal derived tissue should consult Dr. Mayl about the variety of cosmetic injectables available at his office serving Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and surrounding areas. BOTOX® Cosmetic

One of the most popular FDA approved wrinkle reducers on the market, BOTOX® Cosmetic is available at our Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton area center.  Individuals who are bothered by lines in their forehead and around the mouth, or who have troubling folds of skin on their neck, are ideal candidates for BOTOX® treatment.

BOTOX® Cosmetic comes in pre-measured, sterile syringes.  The procedure is easily performed by leading cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Nathan Mayl, at his Fort Lauderdale, Florida office.  BOTOX® Cosmetic works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more uniform appearance in the face and neck.  Though some results of BOTOX® treatment can be seen immediately, the most discernable results start to appear after a few days.  Patients receiving BOTOX® injections can return to work immediately with fewer lines and wrinkles in their skin.  BOTOX® treatment is often performed to complement facial plastic surgery procedures, such as face lift, rhinoplasty, or eyelid surgery.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Dr. Mayl is proud to offer laser skin resurfacing at his Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach area center.  Dr. Mayl has been a pioneer in the use of in-office cosmetic lasers, and remains a leading provider of total facial rejuvenation at his private practice in Florida.

Laser skin resurfacing regenerates the skin and reduces the appearance of acne scars, as well as fine lines and wrinkles.  A CO2 laser is used to remove individual layers of damaged skin in a safe and quick in-office procedure.  One of the great advantages of laser skin resurfacing is that the laser can be precisely controlled, so individual areas of the skin can be concentrated on.  The results of laser skin resurfacing will appear gradually in the days and weeks following the procedure, as the skin begins to peel, revealing a new layer of skin free of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.

Also available at the Mayl Center for Cosmetic Surgery, as an alternative to CO2 laser skin resurfacing, is IPL™, or intense pulse light therapy.  IPL™ is a painless procedure that takes about 30 minutes to complete.  Light emitted from the IPL™ wand penetrates deep into the skin, causing blood vessels and pores to restrict and skin to tighten, leaving patients with improved skin tone and texture.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin smoothing technique.  It works by gently exfoliating the outer layer of skin, diminishing lines and wrinkles caused by sun damage and age.  It also removes surface scars caused by acne, and improves skin tone and texture.  Each treatment takes about 30 minutes to complete, and optimal correction is usually achieved after several sessions.

Post-Operative Makeovers, Facials, and Skin Care

Our medical esthetician, Luz, provides an extra level of patient convenience at our center serving Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, and surrounding areas. After patients undergo surgery, Luz ensures they can resume normal activity as soon as possible by offering both pre- and post-operative makeovers and facials. In addition, Luz is the main skin care technician and administers microdermabrasion and exfoliative treatments such as dermaplaning and dermafiling. She also offers an entire line of long-term skin care products to ensure patients get the most longevity out of their plastic surgery procedure.
