Liposuction

Dr. Mayl performs liposuction on patients who want to fine tune their figures. Liposuction is ideal for both men and women who have maintained a steady weight and lead healthy lifestyles, but are unable to rid themselves of stubborn pockets of fat.  Areas that are commonly treated with liposuction include the abdomen, back, neck, upper arms, inner thighs, buttocks, and knees for women and the torso and under the chin for men.

Dr. Mayl chooses from several different styles of liposuction including tumescent, laser, and "Erchonia" suction technique. His goal is to perform your liposuction procedure in the safest and most gentle manner. He utilizes a combination of sedation and local anesthesia to reduce downtime and recovery time. The final results of liposuction will be visible after several weeks of healing, when swelling and bruising have diminished.  The result of liposuction is a leaner, more toned figure.

Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck is performed to firm and flatten the abdomen in individuals who are in relatively good shape, but are bothered by a large fat deposit that is unresponsive to diet and exercise.  Women who have had children are good candidates for tummy tuck, as their abdominal muscles are often stretched out and accompanied by flabby skin.

There are three variations to the tummy tuck procedure: mini-tummy tuck, circumferential abdominoplasty, and traditional tummy tuck. Additionally, depending on individual needs and goals, tummy tuck at our Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton area center may be combined with liposuction for more dramatic results.

A mini tummy tuck requires a small, single incision.  Recovery from a mini tummy tuck takes less time than a circumferential abdominoplasty, which requires that an incision be made along the entire waistline, and fat be removed from the abdomen, hips, and back.  In a traditional tummy tuck, the incision is made from hip bone to hip bone.  Dr. Mayl will position the incisions so that they are hidden by underwear, and scarring will fade over time.  Once the incisions are made, excess fat and skin will be removed. The abdominal muscles will be tightened together, revealing a smaller and more defined waist. The belly button is retained, but enhanced by repositioning and reduction as needed.

Breast Lift

Mastopexy, also known as breast lift, is a surgical procedure to lift sagging breasts.  It is commonly performed on patients who have lost a tremendous amount of weight, as well as on women whose breasts are sagging due to age and child birth.  During the breast lift procedure at our Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton area center, Dr. Mayl will remove excess skin and tissue, reposition the nipple, and reshape the areola and remaining breast tissue.  The incisions are stitched closed, and the newly fashioned breast is firmer and sits higher on the chest.

Breast Reduction

Women who suffer back and neck pain, who have a hard time finding clothes that fit correctly, or who are hindered from enjoying life due to very large breasts are prime candidates for breast reduction surgery.  During the breast reduction procedure at the Mayl Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Mayl will use a combination of techniques, including liposuction, to remove excess fat, skin, and tissue.  The nipple and areola will be reshaped and moved, and incisions will be closed with stitches to complete the procedure.  The goal of breast reduction surgery is to achieve uniform, attractive looking breasts that complement a woman's figure, but that aren't large enough to cause her any physical pain or discomfort.
